I have been using Pluralsight for few weeks now and it provides very high quality material for developers and designers. I dont think giving it a try would be a waste. :) I came across this wonderfully written explanation that would help people to understand ReST in layman's words before going into technical stuff. This was written by none other than GitHub veteran and a geek Ryan Tomayko, but waaayyy back in 2004. He has removed the original article from his blog which is in the following link.
http://2ndscale.com/rtomayko/2004/rest-to-my-wife But I found it in another place which I believe the exact original article.Following is the link to that article. All the credit goes to the original author. I just wanted to share the knowledge. http://www.looah.com/source/view/2284 Recently I came across that my internet connection bandwidth is used by a program in my pc without noticing. I checked if this is because of the windows and Microsoft auto update process, but it appeared not. Having a limited bandwidth internet connection this thing was a real pain. Sadly I cannot directly guess which program consumes that.
So I then looked for different reasons and decided to tackle the cause by my own. To do that I downloaded and installed the NetLimitter program which can be used to identify and limit the internet connection for different programs. From that I could find out the bandwidth is consumed constantly by svchost.exe which is the service for host programs in windows. But from that i could not identify which is exactly the program that is using this service to download. Although I could not find the program as a precaution I limited the download rate for that svchost service to a minimum level so that I t wont download anymore garbage. 'Map Mode' scroll bar is an enhanced scroll bar introduced by Microsoft from Visual Studio 2013. This enables users to see a preview of their code as you scrolling the scroll bar. If you don't have VS 2013, don't worry. Even I am working with a VS 2012 instance and luckily Microsoft has provided an extension of tools that has this scroll bar. You can download 'Productivity Power Tools' using this link and use the Map Mode scroll bar. In VS 2013, you can enable this by going to Options->Text Editor->All Languages -> Scroll Bars-> choosing 'Use Map Mode for verticals scroll bars' under behavior section to make it available for all the languages. This will gives you to hoover over any part of the code in the scroll bar to directly see the code. Also it will mark any errors using a red dot in the scroll bar itself. So it is easy to find if you make any silly mistakes on the go. I just started using this, will see how it goes.
It is almost an year ago I put the first post in this. Since then time has flown with the busy work schedule keeping only the blank spaces here. Time flies without noticing and it is our duty to make the most out of the time given to us by nature. "It's not a second 7 seconds away Just as long as I stay I'll be waiting It's not a second 7 seconds away Just as long as I stay I'll be waiting" - Seven Seconds by Youssou n’dour and Neneh Cherry I am writing this sitting in between two deaths...
It happens to be two funerals in my neighborhoods, one a lovely adorable grandma and the other a young little lad of early twenties. Yes he is a 'Little' lad, who has struggled to live from the day he came alive into this world because somebody has decided he should not be given the good health as many of us happily enjoy. Grandma who said goodbye is someone I am fond of because she seemed to be lived the life in a very neutral manner. She lived the life happily and not bothering more about problems. And she was not the type who did all the religious things publicly, in her later life just to get a good life afterwards. The death of young chap named 'Kalhara' was the most shocking thing for many. 'Kal' happened to come out of her mother's womb a little bit earlier, made him to suffer a slow growth rate from the beginning. And he had to suffer from various other illnesses including some sort of cancer. Despite all of this, he was courage enough to get an acceptable education and finally got a job thanks to vigorous effort of his parents. But finally he had to leave the world that really didn't give him a fair chance from the beginning. It is unbelievable how he has managed to keep up with all the problems throughout his life. I got to know from a cousin of him that he had a list of illnesses that even doctors cannot believe and amazed the courage he hold up. He was just started to enjoy the beauty of life. 'Kal' did not have many hopes. Not very big dreams. Getting to know the way he planned to reach his simple dreams of life gave me tears. But unlike most of us, he seemed to be well organised, thoughtful and understood about life very early to a level that I am amazed of. So that was his story. And we live. Life, - A test which was not our choice, but what we had to go through by ourselves. - A test which we are unaware about the duration, and the type of questions we get. - A test that we cannot complaint about the fair chance by looking at others. but, one thing is certain. There will be a ring bell at the end of the test for everyone. Death will call you. May be you don't have time to check how good you have faced the questions. You have to leave the place. It is the happiness that you share with others and the moments of cherish will remain in hearts. So the note to myself today is - be happy, be generous, cherish every moment you get in life. Nobody is going to evaluate your life test better than yourself. P.S. - It was sad to have a post like this as my first one in this site. But after all it is the choice i was given in my life. So I am happy that I put it. Greetings from Sri Lanka everyone! And if you do not get the title, it is the traditional welcome message of my mother land.
Although I have been into blogging (quite rarely, hmm very very quite rarely...) which I used to write very much nothing useful but much entertaining and delightful, I thought of starting a new site which will have more of my own voice. Yes, it should be just more than a blogging site. So I thought of start this. Lets see how it goes. |
